My love for Antique Equipment began in 1994, when Cindy and I traded for a single back bar. After I put it in my living room, I started collecting more equipment. In 1998, after some health problems, several people encouraged me to enroll in Barber School, and open a barber shop.
With the help and support of Cindy, my sister & my best friends, I was able to complete school in Sept. of 1999.
I was talking with my friend Kenny Goodpaster, and stated I didn't have a name for the shop. He came up with Three Fellas, Krusty Klipper's, Fuzzy Floor & Back -N- Time and the name is now history.
We opened the first shop in Watauga, TX on November 22nd, 1999 with three people. John Applegate, Melissa Wynn, and Myself. WIthin eight months we had a full crew of eight barbers.
In the next three years we had collected and restored enough equipment to open shop #2 in Flower Mound, TX in October of 2002 and is managed no by Jeminie (Z) Soto.
And as history goes, in the next three years, we collected and restored enough equipment to open shop #3 in Colleyville in September of 2005. This shop is managed by my son, Ace III.
Now the question is, will there be a #4? Who knows. We are still collecting and restoring so anything is possible. This has to be one of the most enjoyable businesses a person could be in. |
